My Favorite Book Club Picks This Year
- Major Pettigrew's Last Stand by Helen Simonson. Charming story about a stuffy British Major who falls in love with a Pakistani shop owner. I loved these characters!
- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Wonderful book about a group of friends during the German occupation of the Channel Islands.
- Girl in Hyacinth Blue by Susan Vreeland. Tells the tale of a Vermeer painting as it travels from owner to owner, touching lives. I loved it!
- Persian Pickle Club by Sandra Dallas. A funny and poignant story about a group of quilters during the depression. Lots of fun!
- The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Creatively told through the eyes of Death, this story follows a German girl during World War II. I couldn't put it down!
